Frequently Asked Questions

Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of human movement. In a practical setting, it involves assessing how your body moves and designing exercise-based programs to help improve strength, mobility, posture, and function — often in the context of injury prevention or rehabilitation.

Anyone! Kinesiology is great for people recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, preparing to return to work or sport, or simply wanting to move better and feel more confident in their body. You don’t have to be an athlete — you just need a desire to feel better in how you move.

Sessions are tailored to your needs, but typically include a movement assessment, targeted exercises, and hands-on support. You’ll work through strength, stability, or mobility-based exercises with coaching on form, control, and progress.

No referral is needed to book a session. However, if you’re an ICBC client or working with a care team (physio, chiro, RMT), we’re happy to collaborate with them as part of your recovery.

Physiotherapy often focuses on acute injury treatment and diagnosis, while kinesiology specializes in functional movement, long-term rehab, and active recovery through guided exercise. The two complement each other — many clients use both at different stages.

Yes. Kinesiology is commonly used for ICBC-related rehab. We help you regain strength, improve mobility, and return to work or daily life safely. Cassandra works with ICBC clients and has personal experience with motor vehicle recovery herself.

Some extended health plans cover kinesiology. ICBC may also cover sessions for approved claims. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your specific coverage.

Personal Training

Not at all. Personal training is for everyone — whether you’re brand new to exercise, coming back after a break, or looking to push your performance further. We meet you where you are and build from there.

Your consultation helps us get to know you — your goals, health history, and movement patterns. We’ll go over your readiness for physical activity, take a few measurements, assess strength, mobility, and flexibility, and set some clear goals together. It’s relaxed, informative, and the first step in your training plan.

Each one-on-one or partner session is 60 minutes. Every session is tailored to your needs and includes a warm-up, focused training block, and cool-down/stretch component.

Just yourself, a water bottle, indoor running shoes, and clothing you’re comfortable moving in. We’ll handle the rest.

That’s exactly where we come in. With a background in kinesiology and experience in post-injury recovery, we tailor your training to work with your body, not against it. We’ll always prioritize safety and adjust exercises as needed.

Yes, we offer in-home personal training — for individuals or small groups.

We bring the equipment to you and just need a 7′ x 6′ space to work in. Rates vary depending on your location and setup, and partner sessions are available at a discounted rate. Let us know during booking if you’re interested in training at home.

Soft-Tissue Therapy

Not quite. STR uses similar techniques but adds active movement and stretch work. It’s more interactive and designed to improve mobility and function — not just promote relaxation.

STR is not covered under Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) benefits. It’s a specialized technique performed by certified kinesiologists and other trained movement professionals.

Some discomfort may occur during deeper pressure or release work, but it should never be sharp or overwhelming. You’ll be guided throughout and encouraged to speak up — this is a collaborative session.

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Shorts are recommended, and a sports bra if applicable. We want full access to the area being treated while keeping you comfortable and covered.

It depends on your needs. For general tension, full-body imbalances, or chronic pain, 60 minutes is ideal. For more localized issues or injury-specific concerns, 30 minutes is often enough.

If you’ve tried massage, stretching, or rehab on your own and still feel stuck — STR might be the missing link. It’s especially helpful if you’re active, dealing with recurring pain, or simply feel like your body isn’t moving the way it should.

Yes, we offer in-home soft-tissue therapy.

We bring the massage table to you and just need a 7′ x 6′ space to work in. This is a great option if you’re looking for convenience, privacy, or can’t make it into the clinic. Rates vary based on location and setup. Let us know during booking if you’d like to arrange an at-home session.
