Frequently Asked Questions

Kinesiology is the study of human movement. In a practical setting, it involves assessing how your body moves and designing exercise-based programs to help improve strength, mobility, posture, and function often in the context of injury prevention or rehabilitation.

Anyone! Kinesiology is great for people recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, preparing to return to work or sport, or simply wanting to move better and feel more confident in their body. You don’t have to be an athlete, you just need a desire to feel better in how you move.

Sessions are tailored to your needs, but typically include a movement assessment, targeted exercises, and hands-on support. You’ll work through strength, stability, or mobility-based exercises with coaching on form, control, and progress.

No referral is needed to book a session. However, if you’re an ICBC client or working with a care team (physio, chiro, RMT), we’re happy to collaborate with them as part of your recovery.

A kinesiologists scope of practice is broad and interdisciplinary covering areas like sport performance, movement mechanics, exercise science and health promotion, whereas physiotherapists have an added clinical scope allowing them to use more invasive machines and techniques than a kinesiologist. The two compliment each other, and are often used together.

Yes. Kinesiology is commonly used for ICBC-related rehab. We help you regain strength, improve mobility, and return to work or daily life safely. Cassandra works with ICBC clients and has personal experience with motor vehicle recovery herself.

Some extended health plans cover kinesiology. ICBC may also cover sessions for approved claims. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your specific coverage.
