Our Mission.
At Stellar Performance, our mission is to promote an active healthy lifestyle through exercise and rehabilitation. We offer inclusive services designed to meet the diverse needs of our community, regardless of age or physical ability. Drawing from our background in kinesiology, physical education and coaching, we advocate universal access to exercise opportunities. By addressing barriers to physical activity, we aim to show that exercise is an essential aspect of overall well-being, accessible to all and capable of bringing joy and fulfillment.
Cassandra Angus
Founder of Stellar Performance
Cassandra is the Founder of Stellar Performance. She joined a circus program at a young age and fell in love with performance art throughout her youth. During that time she learned a lot about human movement, her physical and psychological limitations as well as how her body responded to stress and pain. This is what first led her to study kinesiology.
Many years later, as Cassandra was starting her academic career as a kinesiology student, she was in three car accidents, all within 11 months, as a passenger in all three of them. The last one stripped her of the ability to move freely and comfortably and prolonged her Kinesiology degree by 4 years.
Despite the obstacles she faced, she was able to rehabilitate her mind and body. It took 8 years, many practitioners, and lots of dedication. Her rehabilitation program is still being maintained to this day. Throughout this time, Cassandra was able to complete a Diploma of Sport Science, a Bachelors of Physical Education & Coaching, and a program specialization in kinesiology. She is now a practicing member of the BC Kinesiology Association (BCAK). Furthermore, she is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, which allows her to reach more people within her community.
The fact that Cassandra has gone through the mental and physical challenges of being restricted in movement for many years is what sets her apart as a kinesiologist and trainer. She understands that injuries can be disruptive and can be isolating when someone lacks the proper support system. Her goal is to help people navigate their rehabilitation process or health and fitness journey, so that it can be fun, effective, and always progressing.
